Thursday 11/9

SJ and I went for a walk again this morning. I tried to tak SJ to see the cool view of the river I had yesterday, but it was not quite as pretty. The temperature is a bit different so the fog and sun di not look quite as cool. We borught the camera with us, so we were able to take pictures of the monuments and the giant floating fruit in the river. Apparently there was an agricultural festival last weekend.

Seo-Jeong and her Mom went to Pusan again. I asked to stay home, because I could not take another ride to Pusan with "Mom". I would have preferred if SJ had stayed home to, because I was not quite sure what I would do if they had gotten in a car accident and I was left alone in Miryang. Luckily that did not happen.

I spent some time in the apartment watching tv and reading news on the interweb, but eventually I went out for a walk. I walked to McDonald's and tried a Big & Tasty burger. Basically it was a normal Big &Tasty, but it had some spicy sauce on it. I thought it was really good, better than any McD I have had in the US. The beef seemed to be better quality and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Some little kid stared at me the whole time I was in McD. When I walked home school was out and little kids were on their way to their afternoon classes (english, piano, tae kwon do). Most of the kids really seemed to get a kick out of seeing me. They were yelling hello constantly. One kid grabbed my hand when he got off his school bus. Maybe he wanted to take me home to show his mom. One kid flexed when I walk by him and a whole bus of kid yelled hello to me as they went to their English class. Maybe the kids were laughing at me or maybe they were laughing with me, either way it was cute and I had fun.

They have a nice Asics store in town. I almost bought a few pairs of sneakers, but decided to hold off.

Shortyl after I got back to the apartment some old lady knocked on the door. I think she was a bit freaked out to see me, so she knocked on the neighbors door to ask what was going on. I can only assume the neighbor explained who I am. Anyway it seemed the old lady needed help carrying something, so I carried the box she had upstairs. She smiled and patted my arm and about a half four later she came knocked on the door again. This time she said something and gave me a pear and some persimmons. I smiled, bowed and said thankyou and she went away.

SJ got home pretty late. I went to bed.
